Why use the New York Times?

The Pulitzer Prize winning New York Times (NYT) is an American daily newspaper, founded and continuously published in New York City since 1851. Known as the United States' "newspaper of record," CCC's subscription gives you access to:

  • News - Original reporting, investigation and analysis
  • Cooking - Recipes, advice and inspiration for any occasion
  • Wirecutter - Independent reviews for thousands of products, online
  • The Learning Network - curated NYT articles and corresponding teaching and learning resources

Accessing the New York Times

First time user

To access New York Times content, you need to first register for an NYT account.

  1. Go to the New York Times using CCC Library's access link.
  2. Select Create Account and complete the registration fields. Sign up with your CCC email address.

  3. You will receive a confirmation email.
  4. Follow the provided link to verify your email.
    • If you do not receive an email, using your CCC email account, send an email to edu@nytimes.com with the subject line “Academic Pass - no verification email”. They will resend the email to you.
  5. Once registered, you may access NYTimes.com and NYT mobile apps from any location on any web-enabled device. (Registration may take a few minutes to process. If you can’t sign in, wait a few minutes and try again.)
 

Returning user

  1. Go to the New York Times using CCC Library's access link.
  2. Select Log In.

  3. Log in with your CCC email address and password.
  4. Select "Go to NYTimes.com"

Once you've signed up for an account, you can go directly to NYTimes.com on any of your devices. Sign in using your CCC email address and you're good to go!

Note: Site passes will expire after 365 days. To renew, you will have to activate a new pass using CCC's access link. NYTimes makes this easy by letting you set a calendar reminder for yourself.
