Where to search

There are two options you have for doing your research.

Option one is using the single search on CCC Library's web site.
  • Pros: It's easy to get to and searches many databases at once. The results are easy to read. Using this is a lot like shopping on Amazon.
  • Cons: You'll probably get way too many results and spend a lot of time sorting and sifting through results. Use the 'Refine my results' options on the left sidebar to narrow results down. See image below.

Option two is selecting a poetry-specific database and using your keywords in it.

  • Pros: You cut out millions of potentially irrelevant search results. You search only poetry-specific information. Fewer results means it may go faster.
  • Cons: Databases may be new to you, so they may look foreign and intimidating (good thing CCC has librarians on hand to help). If you try out 4-5 combinations of keywords and don't get any good results, you might want to leave that database and try a new one.

Option 1: CCC Library Search

OPTION ONE

Use CCC Library's catalog and set the Search Scope to CCC Library + Summit + Articles using the dropdown arrow. Enter your keywords into the search bar and click search.

To find stuff we have online - use the "full text available" filter on the left side of your results page.

Option 2: Poetry databases

CCC Library pays to subscribe to academic databases: this information is *high quality* and therefore not available for free on the public internet. It's where the notorious peer-reviewed articles are published. Below are links to a number of poetry-specific databases that you can use to search for peer-reviewed articles. Choose one, click it, then enter your keywords into the search boxes as shown here.
