How to check out books from CCC Library (Summer term 2022)

Book cover for "A Little Trouble in California"Print books can be checked out from CCC Library for six weeks.

CCC Library will mail books to you!

  1. Email CCC Library - reference@clackamas.edu - and ask for help finding and requesting print books. Let the librarian know which class you are in (example, ESOL034) and what level you read at (example, Level 2 and 3).
  2. A librarian (Justine, SD, or Beth) will reply to your email. This librarian will become "your librarian" through this process from start to finish.
  3. Your librarian will help you find books that are interesting to you and at a good reading level.
  4. Your librarian will automatically mail your books to you. Your librarian will ask you to confirm a good mailing address.
  5. Your librarian will get your books ready for you! Information about how to return your books to CCC Library will be included with your books.

This is a free service.

Leveled Reader collection @ Oregon City Campus

CCC Library has over 600 books for adult English Language Learners.

These books are organized according to reading level, starting at Level 1 / yellow (easiest) and ending at Level 6 / black (hardest).

The Leveled Reader Collection is located in the lower part of CCC Library, in the Student Lounge area in front-facing bookshelves.

Remember the rule of five: If you open a book to a page and don't understand five words on that page, it may be too challenging for you to read at this time. But you'll get there, and in the meantime, we have books for every reading level!

If you are reading at a level beyond Level 6 / black, talk to a librarian about other books in the library. We have some great young adult and popular fiction titles!
