What is assistive technology?

According to the Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA), assistive technology is "any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities." CCC library has gathered a small assortment of these types of items in an effort to help students use the library as effectively and comfortably as possible. Anyone is welcome to check out any of our assistive technology items to try out and use while working in the Dye Learning Center. You don't need to have a documented disability in order to use the assistive technology materials at the library.
