ESL052 and ESL053 (Advanced Communication Skills)

Welcome to your Advanced Communication Skills library website!

Find good resources to listen to as you complete your Listening Log assignment.

Definitions for words used on this website:

  • Authentic: "Authentic" English is spoken by people in the United States, Canada, England, and other countries where English is an official language. It is not slowed down or simplified in any way for ESOL learners.
  • Learner site: "Learner sites" describes websites created for learners of the English language. The spoken and written English is simplified.
  • Resources: a broad, "catch-all" term for different types of information, including online newspapers, podcasts, websites, and videos.

Your CCC instructors Jennifer, DeAnn, and Ivana, and your CCC librarian have compiled listening resources for you to use. These resources are online, available in easier, "learner" and authentic English, and will help you build your listening skills.

Before you visit these resources, review your Listening Log assignment and your Listening Practice worksheet, both available in Moodle.

If you have any questions, ask a librarian for help!
