Artificial Intelligence (AI) and critical thinking

AI in teaching and learning

Hi there. Look for more robust resources addressing student and faculty use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom during Academic Year 2025-26. (This page is in development--by a human--and will focus on the intersection of AI and information literacy / critical thinking. Thanks for your patience.)

In the meantime, what we know:
  1. Folks at the College have been working on a draft AI Policy (big P, meaning a Board Policy) during SP25 term.
    • Contact David Plotkin for more information.
  2. Check out other institutions' high-quality resources. CCC Library has curated several options for you, by theme:

Check with your instructor for their expectations around using AI tools for learning and on course assignments. Ask about discipline-specific uses of AI or how they use AI to enhance their work and learning.

CCC librarians can help you work through identifying real and AI-generated content, using AI tools for brainstorming and research process planning, and information attribution, copyright, and citation considerations.
