This website will help you find good sources to read for your Extensive Reading assignments.

CCC Library is different than public libraries.

Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) logoMany of you (especially learners taking classes at the Harmony Campus) use your public libraries to check out books. This is a great idea! Public libraries are convenient, have lots of fiction books and children's books, and have helpful librarians!

CCC Library is different than a public library. But they are also similar!

  • CCC Library has books and materials specific to classes taught at Clackamas Community College.
  • CCC Library has Leveled Readers (your local public library probably does not).
  • CCC Library has a small fiction collection...your local public library has a bigger fiction collection than we do! :-)
  • CCC Library is visited mostly by students and faculty, but the our community members are also welcome to visit us! Everyone is welcome!!
  • CCC Library has longer book check-out periods (6 weeks). Public libraries usually let you keep books for about 3 weeks.
  • CCC Library does not charge late fines. Most public libraries charge late fines.

Public Libraries for Kat's Spring 2024 Class!

As we talked about in class, here are some of the things you can get at a public library:

  • Audiobooks - if you want to listen to a book, your public library probably has them. CCC doesn't.
  • Weekend hours - Public libraries are usually open at least one day on the weekend.
  • A larger collection of books to read for fun (fiction and non-fiction), although probably no leveled readers.
  • Paper newspapers.
  • Fun events open to the community.
  • Just like at CCC Library, there are people who work there to help you find the book you want to read.

There are 13 different libraries in Clackamas County and Multnomah County has a lot, too! Here is the list of libraries from the list of cities you gave the librarian:
