Research help

This guide will help you at all stages of the research process, from choosing a topic to citing your sources.

Develop a research question

A research question focuses on what you want to learn about regarding your topic. A research question does not make an assertion about a topic; rather, it leaves the answer(s) open to whatever you find in the research.

Research questions are used when writing literature reviews and informative essays.

The resources listed below will guide you in writing an open-ended research question.

Build your search strategy

After you have chosen a topic and developed your research question, take a few minutes to map out your search strategies.
