Library questions

If any of the following library vocabulary words confuse you, read our list of CCC Library vocabulary words.

  • Can I call the library and check if you have a book?
  • Yes! We have two phone numbers you can call: 503-594-6323 or 503-594-6042. We can also hold the book for you, so it is waiting for you the next time you come to the library.
  • How long can I check out a book?
  • You can check out a book for 6 weeks.
  • Can I keep a book longer than 6 weeks?
  • Yes! Keeping a book longer is called "renewing a book." You can renew your book(s) by bringing them back to the library's Circulation Desk, and we will renew the book for you for another 6 weeks.
  • How many books can I check out?
  • You can have 50 books checked out from CCC Library at any given time.
  • Can I write in any of the books?
  • No, please do not write in our books. If you would like to write in a book, you can use our free scanners to scan the pages you want to write on.
  • What happens if I keep a book too long?
  • We'll smile when you bring it back! If your book is overdue, please bring the book back as soon as you can. CCC Library does not charge late fines, so don't worry about having to pay for keeping it too long. However, if 3 weeks have passed since your book was due back, you will get charged a lost book fee.
