Any OER project should include an assessment and maintenance plan. Maintaining your OER requires that you gather user feedback, fix errors, and revise or create new editions when necessary.
Below are some strategies and tools you can use to maintain your OER.
- Plan for assessment and maintenance during your initial OER project. Create a timeline or calendar for maintenance work.
- Ask for feedback from your students, your peers, or others in your field. Gather that feedback and ideas for updates in one place as you're using the OER in your course(s).
- Allow readers to report errors and record and publish any corrections you make.
- Utilize usage data provided by the hosting site to measure your impact.
