Research help

College research is complex and we are here to help you navigate the process.

  • I need help searching in a database.
  • Our Research Help guide is a great place to start, particularly the sections Identify keywords and Search for information.
Get immediate help by chat, or send CCC librarians an email: Contact a librarian!
  • Peer-reviewed articles.
  • Peer-reviewed articles are scholarly articles that have undergone rigorous editorial review. Learn more about peer-reviewed articles.
  • I need help with citations.
  • Librarians and Writing Center tutors can help with citations and formatting.
  • Get an article from Google Scholar for free.
  • Google Scholar is a tool that looks for scholarly material indexed online (books, articles, dissertations, technical reports). To get free full text of articles found in Google Scholar, link your Google Scholar account to CCC Library.
  • Where can I get the full text of an article or a book CCC doesn't have?
  • You can get nearly any book or article in the world through CCC Library, even if we don’t own it.
    Books
If you find a print book in CCC Library's catalog that CCC doesn’t own, we can order if for you through Summit.
If CCC Library's catalog does not have your book, we will special order (for free!) your book through Interlibrary Loan.
    Articles
If you find an article using CCC Library that does not have Online Access or Full Text Available, but instead says "No full-text," you can order the article through Interlibrary loan by visiting the request form.
  • What are good sources?
  • Great question. CCC Library offers strategies to help you decide if information is good. How you define "good" depends on a lot of factors, and librarians are here to help you explore and evaluate those. Visit, email, call, or chat with us any time.
